    Logs bounce.

I believe right about dead center, and it would have landed flat.

    Logs bounce.

I got really lucky that this one bounced right instead of left, or else it would have been inside their living room. Still, I learned a serious lesson about keeping the drop zone clear. It's worth the extra time it takes. The damaged bark on the longest log is where the problem log hit the...

    Whistle test?

It means that as you work with any of your systems, someone could randomly blow a whistle and at that instant you have to let go of whatever is in your hands and put your body weight into the system. If you stay put, you pass the test, and if you plummet, you fail the test.

Basal Anchor for MRS pulley climbing

You've got the green carabiner clipped to the "up" end of the rope, and the orange carabiner clipped to a midline knot, and the f8 isn't doing anything but being a connector between the two biners. Your set up is similar to chaining together 3 connectors when 1 would do just fine.

Gear bags and more gear bags

I have a 50L arbortech bag, and its pretty good but I have some complaints. I can comfortably fit a 150ft rope, a 200ft rope, my harness, lanyard, base anchor, hand saw, throw line, and other jangly bits perfectly. It stands erect so it works quite well as a rope bag, and is surprisingly good...

    Rope Runner

So I've been shopping for a rope runner lately, and I've got to say that the colors currently available are offensively bad. I don't care too much about how gear looks, but I care a little, and the "jubilee" color scheme is just so so ugly. I actually ordered a RR from Gap thinking it was plain...

I trust my gear, it’s the wood I worry about....

For people who get nervous taking tiny tops in conifers: try breaking a Christmas tree in half. You'll need to be about 2 feet from the tippy top to come close.

    Treemotion customizing

Quite the photo shoot you set up there, Swing. I'm actually going to be readjusting mine today so I'll take some photos once I do. On that note, take your time getting the adjustments dialed to your liking since it makes a huge difference. Once you're sure you like what you've got, add some...

    Kask visors

Everyone is different, but I don't even think about 60 dollars for sunglasses that I pretty much just wear driving and walking the dog. Compare that to my safety glasses, which I wear for hundreds of hours, and which keep my eyeballs safe, and which are always perfectly attached to my helmet...

    Kask visors

Sorry, it's called Cat Crap and it's a goggle de-fogger.

    Kask visors

I liked the kask visor far better than safety glasses, but less than the protos mesh visor. The kask visor fogs up in the rain but not usually from sweat, so I found it helped a lot to use Cat Spit on the inside and RainX on the outside. Mine never got too scratched up since I was always...

Can you use the OG Rope Runner for MRS?

Do you know why that is? I thought I remembered hearing that a while back. Something to do with it getting stuck open?

Can you use the OG Rope Runner for MRS?

I mainly climb srt, but need to be able to do a little bit of mrt when working with cranes.

Can you use the OG Rope Runner for MRS?

I'm currently shopping for a mechanical climbing system primarily for SRT, but once in a while on crane jobs I need to use MRT and would like my mechanical to be able to switch back and forth. The OG Rope Runner looks like it ticks most of the boxes for me but it's not explicitly described as...
