Hey bud, here is a picture of my old Rope Runner. If you want it you can have it. I am gradually giving my stuff away to people who I think can get some use out of it.

I don't buy a rope if I can't splice it. But I don't think that matters to the rope manufacturers because the number of people that splice their own is a tiny fraction of the market.
I am not sure what you mean by "good condition", but I have one that works fine that I never use. If you and Quintanana don't do a deal, let me know. I have other early editions that I rarely or never use as well, including a Rope Wrench, Unicender, etc.
Hey guys, I was making a friction saver yesterday and decided to create a simple table that shows the measurements that I use for making friction savers of different lengths in 16-strand ropes. I am also including some very abbreviated instructions for the steps that I use to make a saver. To...
My guess is that the strength of an ultra sling would also depend on how tight you have it cinched around the spar. If it is cinched really tight then the angle of pull against the brummel is really sharp, whereas if you have it cinched very loosely then the pull is more inline and the friction...
I really didn't care about their delicate sensibilities, it was more because I found that their recommended approach was so much easier to do, especially in terms of the final bury. So, instead of telling people to do it the hard way I thought it would be better to just do it the easy way. But...
Hi fellow splicers. For years I have had an instructional video on Youtube that gave instructions for how to splice Tachyon based on the old modified double-braid method. It had lots of views and worked ok, but was a real bear to do the final bury. I realized recently that my video was...
I think there is a reason that there have not been any new posts on this thread since 2018. Most of us were extremely happy to see Richard outlast the lawyers and get his unique design to market. So we quit making our inferior copies and decided to support him by buying his stuff. I have two...
Maybe you are on to something. But you will have to draw me a picture. I am one of those visual guys - I do a lot better if I can see it. It looks like your brummel is actually in the eye as opposed to above the throat. So I am confused.
If you go to youtube and type "Joe Stockton Drenaline splice" it will pop up. He does the spLIFE splice on Drenaline, which differs in that it has 9 core strands whereas Vega has 8 core strands. So with Vega this means that you pull out 4 core strands at mark C instead of 5 strands with...
I have done several eye splices with Marlow Vega using the method recommended by Marlow and found them quite difficult to pull through unless you get everything perfect. So I decided to try some spLIFE splices with Vega and found them much easier to do. I had two of them tested and they broke at...
