Sweet gum on property line, HOs disagree on limb removal

If neighbors don’t get along and agree with the plan, I don’t work on the property line. This concept applies here.

    Battery ground saws

@Phil I only use Forge batteries, primarily 6ah in the top handle and primarily 8 and 12ah in the dual battery. Aside from when I first used it as a novelty, the only time I use the low power mode is when I forget to push the button after swapping batteries, or if it times out. I get paid to...

    Battery ground saws

I keep a 201, 2x 500i, and Milwaukee's top handle and dual battery saws on the truck. I really like using the dual battery aloft vs having to crank a 500i in the basket. I only use it in the high power mode, it can really pour out the man glitter. Either electric saw can chew through the...

Let’s talk about hook lift trucks

@Treetopflyer The tag axle is just an axle that affords greater ground clearance through its high lift suspension and smaller tires. The tag axle on the grapple truck is fantastic at hanging the truck up, making me use the differential locks and power diverter in the silliest of...

Let’s talk about hook lift trucks

I only have one hook lift, I built the first truck, used it for 3 years, then built the second truck reusing the hoist. I really like the truck's setup, turning like an overgrown pickup but having a mountain of payload capacity.

    Kubota SCL1000

I'm probably an oddity, but a couple years ago I was wanting a small forwarder, ran the gamut of machines vs what I wanted functionality wise... ended up deciding on an ASV RT40 with cab/ac. 2 years later I'm still very happy with it and would replace it with the same if this one died. Travel...

Anyone using an aluminum dump trailer?

How big of a trailer are you talking about that would save a few thousand pounds vs steel? There's no way I'd want an aluminum trailer for handing debris. Pay a hefty premium for aluminum, then beating it ragged sounds like a no win situation.

    Milwaukee top handle is coming

An amp hour is an amp hour. Forge overheats less and can provide higher discharge rates. Being able to fit it in a 6” pipe across my truck would be ideal. My truck doesn’t have much practical room for inline storage.

    Milwaukee top handle is coming

I have 3x of the Forge 6Ah, 8Ah, and 12Ah. The 6Ah seem to work the best in the top handled saw, which is counterintuitive because the 12Ah is supposed to be 50% more output than the standard 12Ah, which is what the 6Ah Forge is supposed to match. The telescoping pole saw is great. I really...

BRAND NEW Husqvarna T542i XP KIT- Saw, Bag, Charger 2 Batteries

@Merle Nelson you’re making me want a 542. The problem is I have a Milwaukee and an absolute gaggle of Forge batteries. I need to borrow my buddy’s 542 and see if it’s all that.

    T542i

Also the number of batteries required could be rather staggering. A gallon of saw gas has around ~33kW of energy. Assuming 1/3 of that gas's energy makes it to the chain, it would take 34 Husky BLi300 battery cycles to equate to the same energy, before the electric saw's efficiency losses...

Battery Replacement Blower for Sthil Gas BR-600 Leaf Blower ?

I don't know that I've ever had to meaningfully work on a backpack blower. I bought another BR800 last month to go with the 800 we normally use. I may still have the previous 600. I have a lot of Milwaukee tools and batteries. Electric isn't the way for blowers, that I've seen. I wish Stihl...

    liability insurance claim/ property damage

You are liable to repair her vehicle and provide her transportation while it’s being repaired. If she’s willing to settle $1800 of damage for $2k all in, write it up, pay her, and be done.

    liability insurance claim/ property damage

For $2k I would pay out of pocket and offer my heart felt apologies with a waiver of liability putting the issue to bed.

    Tree Work Vehicles

Yep! It's 3 years old this month, ~8800 miles on it I think. Absolutely no chipping, that would be a move in the wrong direction efficiency wise. My usual groundy is a 63 year old retired UPS driver and if we need more help my assistant comes out. There's almost always room somewhere to get...
