If you have your 15 ton it's not much harder to get your 339a, you'll have to find a conventional crane to run for the practical, and the load chart exam will have questions on a conventional crane as well. Maybe talk to durham college they may have an upgrade course.

Yes, I built the frame from the lift back and mounted the chipper. Eloquip did all of the aluminum body.
The chipper engine powers the lift so you don't run the truck engine all day long at an idle.
If the site allows it try to pick over the rear, I know this isn't possible with every setup but you will feel more solid and less likely to lift an outrigger.
Ya I hate those kinda neighbours, had one a couple of years ago call bylaw on me, gave me a parking ticket before we realized he was there, apparently you can't park within 10' of a driveway within the city limits. Kinda tough when your truck+trailer is 70' long and you park in the largest spot...
