    Blue 32!

Bumping this thread. Any more experience that folks have had? Arbsession has it in stock but does not have the specs for the passable splice. Fine with me as I don’t use a zz or anything that would need it. Price is still up there

Really like that idea of the mats tied together. What’s the storage setup look like. Always trying to figure out how not to have to carry single mats on my back lol

Thanks. It’s just a whip no stitch but I think it’s adequate for the application. @Muggs has some pretty slick nautical whip on his lanyards looks like.

MLR had a sale on this cotton 3 strand I couldn’t resist. Picked up a soft fid and a hank of this sparkly rope. Dog leash for the in-laws :) And a nice art piece next door to where we were working yesterday

    Today....

That thing is a hog! What are the dimensions? We are waiting on a new bucket for our MT but I don’t think the mulch bucket we are getting even comes close! Mainly used for moving stump chips. I don’t think ours is a BM brand.

    New HitchHikerXF

Anywayyyyys. Consensus is, As I worked with it yesterday, there were too many wraps! Hahah duhh. I took much of the slack out of the initial tying of the hitch, brought the half hitch as close to the body of the device as possible and took out one wrap, and worked the rest of the slack out...

    New HitchHikerXF

I realize my lefty brain just automatically switches/mirrors everything. Maybe a reason why it looked weird in my photo. My long lanyard is also kernmaster, with 28” armorprus poly, catalyst hitch. A little tighter but smooth for moving rope configurations.

    New HitchHikerXF

I like the amount of wraps as it grabs consistently. And yes I think you nailed it with the smoothness of the kernmantle. I can mess around with this hitch tightening things up and maybe losing a wrap. I love the endless possibilities

    New HitchHikerXF

I believe the stopper knot is the “stevedore” … knottt sure I’m tying it right. But otherwise I’ve been using a double fisherman’s one side stays tied on the dogbone. The hitch I believe is what Richard uses, one turn/half hitch and then reverse the turn direction and wrap up the rope and cross...

    Selling some gear

Well shit. You’re a daisy if you do. Properly derailed. Now I’m going to go sit in the library and not work out in the frigid zero degrees we have here. Cheers!

    Selling some gear

Not to derail here but, I just learned the actual quote from Tombstone that Doc Holiday says is “I’m your huckle bearer” The huckles were the handles on caskets… it totally blew my mind haha. And changes the weight of that quote immensely. Continue on…
