Thx for posting ur pictures. I’m lot more clear now what to do. I assume the it stays there pretty much permanently and u keep the factory jack where it is. I’ll try this. Hopefully the tire will never bottom out on my since my driveway have some crazy dips
I have another full time job and tree work is almost a full time job as well. so I don't have time to sharpen. I buy a good stack of different sized chains for the up coming season. I have a huge pile of single used chains that some day when there is a depression, I'll then use them :)
aside from all the good opnions above, I highly recommend BMG 1 yard bucket for collecting firewood logs after u drop the limbs. That thing is huge. also great for move mulch around or turning my wood chip pile over.
sounds like a cool idea. I bet it'll work well. The lose rust in there doesn't bother me since I need to change the in-line filter often anyway. One thing I'll do routinely from now on is to add some isopropyl once a while.
Have about 5000 budget this year. Remember reading one or couple good threads either here or on the arborist site. Just can’t find it. There was one cutter endorsed by most people running mini skid. Do you guys know which one? The only thing I can find on Google is either blue diamond, CID or...
Some more work done to it:
replaced wheel bearing and race and repacked it on both side. After all old grease dried up over the years, moisture accumulated and the bearing cage all fell apart.
drained all old gas, used a whole gallon of iso-propyl alcohol to get rid of all moisture in the...
I have Vermeer CTX100 with a pellet full of 4'x4' 3/4" plywood that works well for my operation for now. an Avant is what I'm looking into for future purchase. Have a question for those who uses their Avant in winter. Do you run the loader without plywood on winter wet and soggy lawn?
Yes. I did PACK as much grease in the connectors as I can. As to the casters I’m still be looking around to go with the best design. I like the idea of using the caster on the bottom of ur Jack to raise the chip discharge though.
Put another 4 hours into it. Flipped the knives and anvil. Turned out that the setting of the anvil did not go as easy as planned. The throat is much longer or deeper than that Of a 6” Vermeer. U can’t reach in n gap it with a feeling gauge. End up duck taping a hack saw blade to the cutting...
whats the height of the 12” caster, 12”+4”=16”? R u going to mount directly under ur tongue, r u going to fab something to make it higher so the tongue will b more or less level? Then some mechanism to fold it up for transport?
there is an up side down pin at the hinge securing it at the position u set. Thought that they are all the same. as to adjustment, it's a manual one. U just push the thing around. I wish its adjustable vertically so it can shoot all the way to the very front of the box. Haven't used it yet on my...
