Tie in point was base of the palm, rope over the palm canopy in true srt style.
Havnt had contact with owner since 2018, I believe by now vine should be on the canopy again

I have learned by trial n error that the distance between the ring and first wrap is the most important factor in these hybrid hitches,second is the fact that if your ring moves from start point within no time that hitch will jam,that will be gone when you can secure the ring.

after a while the zip tie will slip or stretch,but up tending is really smooth.
Still had no chance of trying it on main line or srt,but I believe that with srt will be great
you mean the zip wont prevent the slippage of the hitch or the ring?
When I used Stihlmadd version the hitch would get so tight that my production was really slowing,now I have tighten the ring with the zip nothing moves.
Next day we go for fun climb I am gonna set this VT on the main line and...
right australian climber Ben Stihlmadd developed a modified VT with 2 rigging rings and a piece of innertube/cabletie.I used it for a while never got the right configuration on it made life hard in the end...now this thread made look at it again and this is the portuguese contribuition to this...
this is a very interessant thread...I love ropes and knots and splicing...used a version designed by an aussie climber with 2 rigging rings it was a mod VT...will get his name and load pics with his version and mine inspired by this thread...after enjoying rest of my late bd and this really nice...

There is some kind of lock stitching in the first 12" 30cm.
Looks like the cover as no core in the eye,cover is buried in itself for about 35 cm
starting 2 enjoy this thread,,,I splice all our ropes rig & climb,never even believed that this splices wouldnt take what we load them with.Insurance will be a problem when something fails...how much likely is that 2 happen?
