Years ago I was shown a rope walker set up made from Ocean Polyester. The top splice was a locking brummel with a covered eye so it looked identical to a DB splice. It was how the splicer got the cover completely over the eye with no core showing in the final splice that baffled me.
If anyone feels like explaining this to a simpleton, could someone make a video showing how to do a locking brummel with a covered eye? I can't for the life of me get my head around it
I spliced Dragonfly just to see if I could. Ugly splice. I had some bought with a Slaice and it was great. I wouldn't want to look at that splice daily!
Thank you, All taken in Bedfordshire, UK.
Beech was just climbing to measure the height
Big Oak top was making safe a standing dead Oak tree. Took it to 6m.
Climbing the big Cedar isn't me but I took it. Climbing to measure the height. One of my favourite photos I've taken
Thanks @Brocky I'm going to give this a go, really interested in this. Sorry for all the questions! I'm guessing that you tie an anchor knot as usual in the normal place prior to extracting the core?
