Two Rope Climbing

Basically, 3 swivels, but complexly, 3 swivels arranged such that the 2 belay devices in a 2 rope system can operate entirely independently OR together. After working with Paul over in Japan, he replicated my system and then made a video displaying it in detail.

Dang. that is a killer two rope application. Thanks for sharing.

that's a really cool tree. What kind is it?

You guys are really doing a great job selling those bones. I have wanting one for a while. It will definitely be the next device when I feel like trying something new.
I love dem bones
Fast on off rope no drop able parts
Wear that spine give it a flip
Gobbles up slack easily
Can take the heat from long fast repel and doesn’t have any problem with it at all

now I'm just full of regret for not having gotten one instead of the last several purchases. I was so blinded by big sales, that I didn't even think about the goodness that's not even on those websites.

Both the heli belay and the redirect in Paul Poynters video have me madly inspired. Small break with temps above 0 so did some two rope practice today in an old sugar maple and man - it was a heck of a time. Great exercise in rope management and planning a working path.
That line management is the most important with one rope yea, but two is double the fun!
I do a lot of pre redirects when dsrt. Work off a drop down between unions leaving tail opposite side of a limb, I’m going to move over. Pop the bone off pull tail slack now I’m other side of limb with that line.
If you keep the splice on the tail there is some good tricks to use it for retrievals on a large spread span across the tree , capture that line span before you descended with a carbiner in a span and pull down to reverse off that when done in that area of the tree
Does that make any sense ? Haha

That never should have happened. A simple inspection of new gear would have revealed a ring without markings.
At that time of that accident a lot of the rings on the market had no markings on them. When a manufacturer has things made in a factory that makes rings of varying quality and intended uses, it isn’t that hard to imagine this occurring.

Didn’t Sherrill end up paying for a recall because Kong wouldn’t admit that it was even their ring? Or some bullshit about them not authorizing their equipment to be used in competitions? Hence Mark Powell’s Kong Kills T-shirts at the time.

Yes, I remember. But having many or not, would you have climbed on an unmarked ring? I check all my new gear for flaws and compliance.
