Ring on bridge?

Ive been using the Omniblock mini 1.1" on my bridge for years. I replace it every three years and replace my bridge every 6 months even though it never shows that much wear. I wouldn't consider going back to anything else honestly.

A few months ago I started using the Camp Gyro triple swivel on my bridge. So far I have found it to be a big improvement over a ring, single swivel or any combination setup. The stainless steel rings move smoothly on the bridge and the whole thing takes up very little space on the bridge. Phenomenally good when running two systems.

Do you take the grommets out of the eyes?

Maybe a disgruntled employee is trying to run them out of business. I got doubles of 2 items in an order from Maple Leaf Ropes one time and the owner was flabbergasted that I called him to let them know. He told me he was going to send me a box with a prepaid label to ship the extras back and that I was the only person he remembered doing that. The rest of the order took almost another year to get to me, a DMM Director interestingly enough that was on backorder, and he never sent the box, even after 2 reminder calls.

Well, for what it's worth, I have been using the Camp Gyro since last November, a full year. It still looks and functions great and I like it just the way it is. Wouldn't change a thing.

Thank you ... It means a lot ... when I reflect back in time ... :llorando:

As I was studying & reviewing Petzl GriGri history from original , GriGri 2, GriGri + .... evolutions of petzl ascenders, birth of Petzl Zigzag, Zillion, Bulldog bone, compact BB , BB nano, RR, RRP, Trango Cinchi, Vargo Trango,
HH, HH2 HH X HH XF , Harken Ninja, Notch foot ascender, Haas Velox, Saka , Monkey Beaver OG, Monkey Beaver 2.0, ( Shout out What's up !? to " August H" !!! Yo!? You are cool dude !! Cool dude !! (y))
Some ordinary helmets evolves into Pfanney helmets ( Yo !? Shout out to "Pfanney man" !!? (y) What's up ?! ;) Psss!? It does look a like a "G-force" helmets... You ready for it ? I'm not forgetting riggin u up & so as Dr. "Aerial traveler" too . ) , etc etc ...
it always evolves in times . Sometimes it's better , sometimes, it's not so much.

Yes, we can't go back in time. We need to go forward ⏩ and see what the out comes it will be . If not good...
then make it better. There always will be not good enough

So as we need to climb ! and descend !!! Then , Climb right back on !!! Climb higher Much Higher !!!

So , I might gonna put Titanium bearings on New C.A.M.P. GYRO... Lol  I might change all that climbing gadgets all that to Titaniums ! Lighter !! stronger!! comfortable!! Safer !! Long lasting !!! Gawd Damn it !!! C.A.M P shouldn't be losing on Notch rook ! !!! But I'm connectin' notch rook with Camp Gyro with carabineers... But it's just not so smart and slim !!! It's just too much ! We can shrink it back into one !!!! Smooth , Smaller Convenient , Sturdy, Safe , lighter , Comfortable , Well balanced.

It could have been much better but thank you. It means a lot to me ...

Talk about
  • Tensile Strength: 5,845 lbs.
  • Working Load Limit: 674 lbs... Well, this numbers that Ive just pulled out are not from CAMP Gyro . It's actual copy & paste from DMM mini Swivel that has been recalled. Whatever it is, we just needs to be cautious around climbing gears.
He wasn't talking about your input I don't think hahaha

Well that's awkward! Sorry to hear that you had such a bizarre experience with us. Definitely not our intent. To be honest our system isn't perfect and sometimes these mistakes slip through the cracks. As much as it would be easy for me to blame it on an employee, it really is more a symptom our accounting software not always keeping up with our pickers. Feel free to keep whatever was double shipped as a reward for your honesty! Thanks for being a customer of ours and being so patient with that mess of a product launch for the directors. Feel free to contact me if you need anything else! (no double shipments this time though)

You were very cool about everything and the Directors launch was during the height of Covid. It was clear what was going on and you explained it all. I have nothing negative to say, more of an interesting story than anything else!

I have climbed on a Sequoia for years, and never had a problem clipping directly to the bridge. For that matter, I have never owned a saddle with an installed bridge ring. I did put a swivel on my Sequoia last year, simply because it makes it easier to orient the zigzag I use when I am hanging off a crane. Otherwise, I don’t really see that a ring is particularly necessary.
I have a Sequoia as well and don't have a ring or swivel on it (as of yet). Never climbed with one either on any other saddle. I've always preferred clipping directly into a bridge rather than a ring or device.

I forgot who it was, but I'm pretty sure I remember once seeing a fellow buzzer saying something along the lines of "what's the difference between a carabiner and a ring running against the bridge" in terms of friction and wear and tear.

Although I know a lot of people utilze them with no issues, just something I haven't gotten around to looking into.
