Good looking woodshed, very satisfying to fill up the heat larder. I added to the chest freezer today, butchered up a deer from last weekend. Been perfect hanging weather and was bit below 40 when I quartered it last evening. Takes me a while but put on some JJ Cale and Black Keys and had a fine time.

I would probably have just taken it down with my bucket truck except there was a bunch of brick work and a very nice manicured lawn in the front. Zero impact from the crane. Plus part of the fun of all this is using your crane.

I used to use my bucket maybe once a month the first 2 years I bought it. Now, I truly don't remember when I used it the last time. I have to run it every few weeks just to warm it up. I'll have to just sell it one day. one day if i can't climb anymore, i'll buy a track lift.

A couple of firsts for me today, although I'm sure neither will be the last.
First time I've come out of a tree and walked away. Very broad, multi lead red oak in decline. I try to do a very thorough assessment when I do the estimate, but there were some defects I just couldn't have known about until I got into it. I don't own or rent a lift/bucket so I referred the customer to another trusted tree service.
Also, first time a new groundie has sent me for a ride by not letting a top run. Skinny birch with a lot of attitude. Hard to tell from the pic. I'm confident he'll improve with experience.

We had a first today as well. We had a tenant of where we were working decide they were irritated about the sawdust so they sprayed on of my guys with a water hose and yelled at him. My guy yelled back like wtf are you spraying me for. The guy with the water hose went and got a pistol. Some people...

Yes, the groundman stopped it abruptly rather than gradually. It shockloads the rigging and stem. Can be quite a violent shake.
