Today....

They're pretty tough trees. Still, what a short-sighted dumb thing to do. Design drawings don't have roots so they must not exist! It would be great if a software company could come up with a program in concert with arborist consultation that showed what is going on below ground as well as above, and took into account the impact of stuff like this in the short and long term so when a computer nerd is designing a living landscape it is harder for them to eff it up.

The problem is that these companies don't have anyone on staff with a biology background. ASLA is as close as they get.

That much loss of CRZ is a no-go in my book, especially by a playground going into thunderstorm season

When cutting firewood in the tree makes it look like it's snowing:

(on a side-note.... this thread verses the 'work photos' thread, whats the difference.....nothing far as I can tell?)

The difference is that one is related specifically to work photos, the other can be non-work, if you did something today that you wish to share with the rest of us. Mostly the two threads are similar though, as we tree nuts don’t seem to ever do much that is not tree related.

Here's an example of "Today". Built this sucker for the quarantined kiddies. Made with cedar planks a friend of mine milled up.
I’ll see your rock wall, and raise you a little higher. 21’, to be exact. I built this one the other weekend for a friend’s kids, I’m hoping to put the rest of the holds on it tomorrow.

Yes, that’s a ZigZag, it was the easiest way to climb to set holds. I’m setting it up with proper ATCs for the kids to use when they climb.
