Rope Wrench - Hitch/Rope compendium.

I got these two setups working good today on km3 13mm. Rit on the hh2 straight valdotain and hrc on the wrench with a micho. I'm about 175 with no shoes or gear.

Ok do yourself a favor. Ditch the pinto. Get a hitchclimber. Buy an @height shorty double leg special order at wesspur. Tidy up those tails at least. Nice of you to get wrenching. You can PM me a special thanks at anytime. Buy some stitched eye prussics.

Whats better about the hitch climber? I can get a shorty double eye from Gap. The tails are long because I am getting my length figured out. I will splice myself an eye and eye. Maybe order stitched. We will see.

Sewm eyes works way better than spliced eyes. Been up and down that road for eight years. The center hole of the HC is the perfect tending spot ....you can put throwline loop in the bottom of that extra long tether and it will work albeit off centre...

Yo Swing, Gap keeps the ISC shorty's in stock.. Agreed that a Wrench seems to perform better on a HC than a Pinto. Cant really figure out why, but it does.

I hesitate to buy an hc because it's $60 and if I don't need it, then I could use that $ somewhere else. But hey, I could use my pinto somewhere else, I just threw it on because I had it. Then I gotta get another $25 dollar tether, but the broom stick is unnecessarily long, lol. @swingdude, I see your point with the tending spot. I was using one of the holes in my cali swivel to tend, which worked just fine, but does give one more biner length of slack. Not accualy a big deal, but if your nit picking your system for max efficency, it's something.

Damn I think at one time I had 7 hitchclimbers and 2 phlotichs. Got rid of 3 hitchclimber and the 2 phlotiches to make room for 3 new eccentrics when they hit the market. No pulley fucks with a hitchclimber rapide. Now I am an older climber I am always looking for an edge to tighten my systems up for max efficiency. I have climbed with some of the best climbers around in the States and UK. I just guess stuff runs off. I am fortunate to have had those experiences. I am always trying to pass that info on. These are things climbing not cutting and doing treework. That is different. I love gear and know how to use it. Have had so much of it. Some I keep some I sell and some I give away. In my career I think I have owned up to 12 hitchclimbers. Madness I tell you. Damn I have had 6 HAASs and 6 SAKAs.....lol no fucking lie. Think I bought 2. The arb community blesses me I bless others. Win win.

When it comes to which pulley to use, I think it depends on how your tend your hitch. I think the HC is best when your pulling your climbing line straight down instead of using the sheave and pulling up or outward.
I haven't got the rapide yet and I'm will soon bc I love bearings and that might make the difference but for me I've found that the pinto just breaks the hitch effortlessly especially if you use the sheeve to pull your climb line up or outward.
I do love the extra hole on the HC for a chest connection but you can connect your chest to the Becket of the pinto too.
The pinto is much stronger and could be used for many other applications that the HC pulley would not be as well suited for.
The pinto is also lighter than the HC.
I really need to get the HC rapide and the pinto rig bc I just love how smooth the bearings are compared to bushings.

There are things that really get me going. Rope....hitch cord....pulleys with bearings.....helmets.....boots....climbing pants......wrenches.....all climbing. Rigging is standard for me....loads of rigging rings, blocks, porty, stable braid ropes.....
I am not far off bro. I almost ordered that hc pulley last night, but I saw someone had both eyes of a double eye tether on the inside of a pinto so I decided I will try that, with the new shorty tether and the stitched eye to eyes I ordered, lol. I'll get the hc sooner than later I'm sure. It's weird, after 17 years as a pro tree climber, I'm more excited to climb now than ever before. I rec climbed this 130+ ft hickory yesterday just to mess with new gear and "practice" cause I'm planning on competing next year.

Pintos are some of the best hitch tenders man. And their also perfect if you MRS Too BC when a doubled line is terminated on the becket, it keeps the pinto in the perfect position to move your hitch.
When you have the HC pulley, it takes a little more effort to tend when pulling anywhere but straight down because the pulley has to turn into position to move hitch upward.

I know it seems small but I just love the pinto for how responsible it is when tending hitches.
