Show off them splices

Hey Santiago, if you followed the directions you don't need to break the Tachyon. It looks good and I guarantee you won't have a problem with it.
That's good to hear! Unfortunately these are all on 10' or less sections of rope. Plus the guys at work are bugging me to splice stuff for them, so it'd be nice to show the boss some data when I ask if he's alright with that

That's all good. We need to keep Richard gainfully employed.

Looks to me like they did not keep the crossover tight during the bury and did not get it completely buried. Sloppy work.

What process did you use to spice this?
Instructions for Scion and Tendril are available on the Sterling website. The method used to splice Tachyon, Tendril and Scion is pretty much identical except that the manufacturers recommend a 4-5 cover taper on Tachyon and a 4-6 cover taper on Tendril and Scion. I personally don't think it matters which taper you use as long as you are consistent. Get your crossover nice and tight, and keep tension on the crossover during the bury so that it does not bunch up in the throat. If you do that it will go fine. And welcome to the Buzz!

Oddball question to those in this thread..

If you cut the Eye off your Teufelberger CE Lanyard/Hipstar Flex Lanyard, how many of you would hand splice a new eye on there with a typical DB splice?

Probably won't get many responses here as most make their own gear, but im just curious how many would try to do so.

I have done a few DB splices in Ocean Poly hitch cords and found that it is easy to splice when new. So, I assume it would be possible to splice the Ocean Poly in your CE lanyard with a DB splice. But if it is old dried out cordage I have no idea how easy it will be. Guess you won't know until you try?
