Yer Rigs

Picture of my pickup. 2003 F250 XL(got XL cause wanted the vynle interior, put on XLT chrome grill), 6.0 diesel, auto, supercab, rhino bedliner, limitd slip.

Used for estimates and towing equipment (great for towing with that 560ftlb torq and "tow mode" transmission!).

Not good for much real work, as in hauling, body skins these days dent over the slightest thing. My bed floor dented in majorly when I carried a good size chunk of ash one day. My tailgate has been totally trashed and the headboard of the bed is pushed forward and the one side is buckled out too. I bought a new bed and tailgate the other week, going to reinforce this one with steel ribs on the floor of the bed and rhino line thicker this time. I love the drivetrain and the power of that engine, but the bodies suck now-a-days.

Anyone want to buy these weld wheels? They are 17s. retail $455each I think, check Weldracing.com Cheyenne 8, 17". I want 20s instead. I'll put on e-bay this winter I think. On half life Interco Truxxus Mud terrains right now (not the swampers in the picture, those swamper lasted 3000 miles before the weight of the diesel busted the cords).

We ought to start an equipment picture post. Maybe I'll show a picture someday of our best "groundman".

You guys talking about make shift chip trucks and stuff..... When I started out on my own 9 yrs ago, for my make-shift chiptruck I started with a one-ton pickup with a dump insert and built a plywood box on the dump insert. Hey an insert is a cheap way to go, and the little bit of cost sure beats forking. And I started with a used bandit 200+ and a used stump grinder. A little cheap S-10 carried all the saws and tools.

Ceriel wrapped his head around that one really well. Nice unit and very practical in the way that it folds down. I just had a bit of a hard time with the weight...comes in at 1050lbs. Eats up too much payload in my humble opinion. Fairly cheap at 5 G

Yes, weight is a problem alternatively you could install a custom lift to make the whole bed dump and it’s more practical and makes for a clean instalation. If your a do it yourselfer the parts are available from Princess auto and you could do it at half the cost of a custom add on dump box.

Now if I can only wire in my new toy.................Between brewing and pissin, I wouldn't get any work done! /forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Out of curiousity, why's the plow's ram and lights permanently attached? Isn't it mandatory on new installations to have the lights and ram come off with the plow? Or am I mistaken.... /forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Nick

the plow attachment, pump is removable however i just had the plow put on a week or so ago. We're sopposed to be getting some snow in the morning so it's staying. It's much easier to unhook just the plow rather than lights and all.

Mangoes,

No need to pay 25% mor in the states. There's a company up here called Riegling Bros. They sell union gas and hydro trucks that are pretty decent shape you should ecpect two to three years out of ther stuff and it's clean. if you want some info let me know.

We recently purchased 2 of these chip trucks. Auto, air bracks loaded. The guys love'em.

On the inside. GPS, laptop and printer are all hard wired. With room for the kids car seat in the back. Nice.
