I do NOT do crane removals every day and that is why I'm likely a much better climber than you, you piece of filth (hey, it's in your name).

Like the other guy was suggesting, crane removals are very easy, do not brag about it.

I do .....everyday .....sometimes I run 2 remotes and 2 cranes at once.....while I'm climbing and cutting :) dirty why take such issue with Jamin's idea? Wouldn't it be better if terms were more standard?

CRAP!!!!! NOW I'M GOING TO HAVE TO GET ANOTHER CRANE SO I CAN RUN TWO AT ONCE! Darn you to heck Mike!

Not everyday. The crane is another tool in the bag that we use when necessary...

When the only tool you have is a hammer everything starts to look like a nail....

Very limited crane experience. That's one of the reasons I check this thread. It would be nice to understand more. If someone would teach me more, even on site, I would come out. I couldn't do it for free but I would certainly earn the training and I'd bring a lot to the table.

Another observation with this discussion:

Our industry has borrowed techniques, terms for gear, & methods from all sorts of professions. But, they all were influenced by one trade/profession that goes back many millinea: Ships/sailing.

As I have done some side research on the terms yaw, pitch, and roll. Guess what? There are 3 more terms that we may want to consider. --Yeah, I know. This is going to make some people mad and/or "rock the boat".
smile.gif

Ship motions can experience yaw, pitch, and roll. And those terms are use to describe rotational motion. Ships also heave, sway, and surge. And those are motions called "translations". <---That link is like siting my work. Click it to confirm that I'm not pulling this out of my arse.
smirk.gif

Heave: is the linear vertical (up/down) motion.
Sway: is the linear lateral (side to side) motion.
Surge: is the longitudinal (front and back) motion.

So, with these new(er) terms. When a load is cut free (and of course balanced to eliminate any rotation) there are still terms we may want to consider to communicate translational motion.

For example, if the tip of the stick was boomed down too much, the load would surge away from the crane when cut free.

Likewise, if the tip of the stick were too far right, the load would sway to the right when cut free.

23ton on up to 115. daily ride is a 38 ton. but it doesn't matter, it's all the same as far as pick'n is concerned. when you work at the edge of the chart you can only take what you can take and that is small picks from time to time.

after seeing you on the cover of tcia i know for a fact i am a better climber than you. how much time did you waste setting up that happy horse chit? talk about a waste of time......

and in regards to easy. we do the work around here no one can do. the easy work goes to the 2nd crane crew, we bang out the work that no one else can do and that can be proven.

for someone who supposedly knows it all that is a complete joke. and only 22tons at that. you really hamstrung yourself with that buy.
