You're right David. Listen to the masses, Tim and I are the absolute minority....perhaps says something that we're both originally from the UK.

We do too appreciate comradary within the job also, when its deserved....but it'd be a lot more subtle....a nod, a wink....maybe the sharing of a cigarette etc. Would stop short at physically touching another man though. Its a cultural thing probably.

When I said Angry, I perceive it as a direct and no nonsense approach. You've never been backward In coming forward. I didn't mean you walk around being argry with everyone and situation.

August has his style of film making, works for him suberb....I just didn't think it suited you so much. Doesn't matter what I think though, the majority loves it and that's more important. As you were.
I sure appreciate the input. Thanks Reg ! see you at the Expo.

Being as I have spent some time with both Tim and David.....I can honestly say that both are great dudes...albeit quite different...I personally have to agree with Tim here, I more like less of the flash and more treework...I actually dislike music now, never listen to it....but I do love the treework that you dudes show....I just listen to it with no volume...like hearing Reg talk though...wifey is english and I love the english and their accents....watched all of Reg's vid on the crane vid the other day...liked it a lot....awe well who am I....don't even do crane work....and I also think August has great editing skill like Bixy....ole swing just cuts a few trees, just a mere mortal among all these awesome treefolk....

So, T.C. , or Tim, is the old "Grover" I have been told. Now that makes sense. We always got along just fine. Swing, I'm coming to visit and doing a tree video with YOU someday. I've had it and the music in my head for a long time now.

Dave that would be fun I am sure, knowing you....always full of ACTION...you are a good man...and yes Tim is the old Grover....he is also a good man....you are both solid dudes...in my book....guys like you is why I continue to love the work I do to support my family....NUFF respect....

Variety is what I'm looking for and it is what guys like August and Brian Bixler provide. I can only stand so many videos of guys making cuts, no matter how pretty. August inspires and at the same time provides entertainment. Music offers a welcome counterpoint to the growl of the saw and a soundtrack for well choreographed work (both in the tree and in the edits). The tree work is great on it's own, but August took it to another level with his production.

Can I just ask you John, what does he inspire you to do ? Thanks

Swinging high fives of course. Seriously though, great question! Where I work I don't get a lot of interaction with like minded individuals. I watch YouTube videos to remind me that there are others out there who take great pride in their work and their professional abilities. Yours not the least Reg. All of the guys posting vids of their work keep me moving ahead. Maybe this particular video romanticizes tree work, maybe it's not realistic, maybe it's a little over the top. It's a welcome diversion for me out here in the land of bucket babies and cowboy climbers. Most of all though, I'm currently recovering from rotator cuff repair and miss working. Twenty years of tree work is catching up to me. Right now I'll take all the inspiration I can get. Keep 'em coming.

I personally love August's vids, with my favorite piece being the cat giving him a hard time about using a blake hitch.. And his "working man's blues" made me cry... He obviously has talent and passion which come through..
Its been fun to watch the whole evolution of tree videos for the past 7 years... August has set the bar VERY HIGH. Here's a hard act to follow. where can tree vids go from here... IMO the only place to go from here is taking the contnet to a new level.. To that end I've been working on video production with new vigor. Might have 30-40 new ready to go soon. Gonna break them all out at once. That is in part inspired by meeting August and Xman right after labor day.

Don't see how a person could make a better production than August....equal perhaps but not better. He can take a simple pine removal and make it look absolutely spectacular on screen. Best you can do Dan is film quality tree work that is clear and easy to follow. I hope Augusts production skills do lead to some reveue, if not already. I can only imagine the time he puts in, both setting up on the job and sat behind the screen.

My all time favorite is still the one you did to radio head where you broke for a tea with ththe camping chairs and table. Sheesh. We don't even get lunch much less a tea. Lol
