Hello,
I've been playing around with lanyard configurations lately and this adjuster is now surplus to my needs:

Very little use on it and works fine. Looking to trade for this style micro pulley with the connection point on the bottom if you have one:

Bonus points if you can guess what my workbench in the background was in a prior life!

We used to have one at the house for our reloading bench, it was a beast. Pretty sure my dad still has it and it was from around 35yrs ago when they installed new lanes at a bowling alley near our home. Something I also got there was the full collection of 45's from the jukebox, not sure what I ever did with those, cds came out around the same time lol.

Anyone using rope grabs with cable in them should replace the cable with string trimmer nylon.

The strimmer line doesn’t break or wear out
Hi Tom,
Nice to make your acquaintance. I enjoyed listening to the interview you did on the Educated Climber podcast. Thanks for all your work here on the Buzz.

I’m intrigued by your comment and was hoping you could explain further. The cable on this particular adjuster is vinyl-coated stainless steel aircraft-type cable. It seems to act as a spring to keep the cam tight to the rope at all times. Are you saying you’ve seen these adjusters go through so many cycles that the cable breaks?

Thanks,
Greg

Yes they do. Heat shrink keeps from getting jaggers in the hand longer but they still fail one wire at a time. (Same with steel core lanyards by the way.)

Tom will tell you more when he weighs in.
