WTH? SHERRILLtree Poison Ivy made by Samson now?

Has anyone tried these new Samson/Sherrill Tree Ivy ropes yet? - I might have to buy a rope soon... - Been on Cougar Orange on the Bulldog Bone for years now... - It's still working great - though it does play on my mind after climbing on the same rope for 4 years (only seasonal, part-time use though).

$154 US for 150' of the Samson PI lines from SherrillTree, vs. $129 for 150' Bluemoon from (ironically) TreeStuff. Yale can beat that, just rename their existing 11.7mm lines and continue doing what they do so well.

Note: TreeStuff is using the exact same shopping user interface/back-end web infrastructure as Sherrill, probably the same server. They might as well stop calling it TreeStuff.

The Yale lines are poly/nylon so I'd like to know how the Samson poly/poly compares.
Sherrill is always having a sale on these so if the poly/poly is a better rope but be worth a try.

I hear ya moss, and agree with everything... I'm normally a value for money guy too, though in this case - also a stickler for hi-vis PPE - I'll pay a little extra so anyone on the ground can spot my line sooner before they throw it in the chipper with the brush.

It's really poly/nylon?? Poly/poly would surely be noticably more static than the number comparison would indicate, I'd think.

I just checked a couple of sites too and Ivy is ploy/poly.
So going with Samson was cheaper for Sherrill?
It was supply chain. Sherrill was waiting for inventory while facing a large demand. Samson was able to meet the demand more quickly.

Hi vis is good! Helps with rope setting too so you can actually see where your line is, especially high crowned conifers.

I'm watching for feedback on this as well. I love the poison ivy line and 11.7 has been what works best for me. I had to get a new rope and I went with Blue Moon since they say it is the exact same construction. I am not happy with it. Poison Ivy stayed round under load while Blue Moon squares up and also seems to not be as durable. There is much more fuzzing from ascenders and mechanicals on blue moon than on the ivy.
