we all make mistakes and it is human nature as you know...
I was asked to speak at a Californa Arborist association dinner last year . The topic was , " Jobs Gone BAd " While I was traveling to the diner location and thinking about what I was going to say , I stared to laugh about another job in my owen yard that I did with my wife.
I had a cluster of Black Oaks and wanted to take one out in particular. I set all the lines from the ground , top rigging the the one tree back to another and my wife running the porty. I was just going to lower the whole tree to the ground like I had done with many others.
Everything was set, asked my wife if she was ready. I put in a face and the back and the tree was lowered to the ground. As I was watching it, I thought . "She's letting down to fast" The tree laid wheree I wanted it to with no harm done but when I looked at her , she was still holding the rope in her hand.I looked up in the remaining cluster and my rope was still rigged to the top ...I looked at her , she looked at me and I said , " I guess you cant lower it down if I dont cut the right tree"....we both laughed. However, I always douple check now when Rigging from the ground in a bushy cluster of trees ....
