Jim, I have... and his experience with the Hollenreich's here has understandably left a bad feeling of this forum. Yes, I know him fairly well. I'm also intimately familiar with the design and development process the machine went through, as an engineer myself.
Jimmy... you just said, he's not a huge manufacturer.. so there goes that volume purchasing power, pal. I don't know where he gets them from. We're talking more than just the motor when I say "powerhead".
But let's settle this. I'll make you a bet...
YOU buy a Wraptor kit for $2500, and make another one, exactly like it, for less than $2500.
If you can do that, I'll buy them both. No bullchit. And then you can play devil's advocate all day long.
Oh, and I expect you to start charging your customers at cost.

Whats to build, put a rope bridge or a short wire rope inplace of the long tether cable, snap in there. Small rope grab between spool connected to the tether support, ground man tend the tail trough a porta wrap. Now I wonder if the Capstan Rope Winch is faster???? Can I charge 2700 if it is?

Why? You don't think that 2,000 lbs would pull you up the rope once it is wrapped and cinched tight in a portawrap? Maybe this might have to be a new venture? Very little thinking and mods would have you flying in no time.
Sure this could be placed on an electric saw also. Wonder if it'll fit a 24volt makita saw? Wonder if there is a way to replace the cas spool with a Harken # 16 Self Tailing ??
