Wraptor soon to be unavailable

I have visions of Wraptoring up to my TIP and then turning the Electric Wraptor upside down and securing it with a long climbing line in it. I could then descend on a HH and start working as normal. Anytime this lazy old man needs to ascend I would just push the remote and ascend......

Who is the guy shown riding it on the TS page. Whoever it is could literally be my twin. Well 20 years ago at least. I am a little grayer now.

I just want to mention that I'm a happy Wraptor owner, :birra:

.....and following the discussion with interest.

long rope....stopper knot... I like the current design and it has a bomber safety record, somewhat hesitant to go reversible and introduce more complexity

Dropped mine at least 50 feet onto the downhill floor of the forest as I was girth hitched on the top of a td as I went back up on and different than usual couldn't just have the anchor untied and ...zip...it is gone. Fkd up and gave slack on the spool.

No repairs necessary...the plastic cover came off but I like it better without it. That was about 5 years ago. Mine goes out at least 3 days a week and I sometimes go up it half a dozen times a day...and I got 2 bucket trucks.

Point being tho...definitely bomb proof. I bought it because of the tanaka engine as well. Had a Tanaka drill for years prior to it. Tough stuff.

I will certainly have it at crane school. I thought about the GRCS but I have other bollards and winches. At my age the Wraptor makes sense, I enjoy climbing but every time I look at multiple 80 footers I dread every step.

A wraptor is one of the best pieces of equipment to have for a climber, if you climb and don't have one then that's the first problem. The production will go up and the body fatigue of NOT thrusting up a 100' tulip will let you focus better and prune better. I will also have mine at crane class just in case I need her

If anybody wants to use one just come hang at my place for a couple of days and do my work, oh I mean use a wraptor ;)

Just an update, we found a source for a bunch of tanaka augers which have the same motor and gearbox so I am buying up as many as I can afford, well as many as my wife's credit will afford, and hoping like crap the economy doesn't tank and I end up with a pile of drills and nowhere to live..... Should have Wraptors for at least 6 months..
