Would you jump out of this pine?

The only thing I would have done different is to have a piece of rubber between the brake pulley and the trolley to avoid the aluminum slamming together

I read somewhere that a dogs chew toy with a hole drilled in it works good

A series of sponge rubber balls strung on the line might work well! We could call you sponge Jesse!!!!!

JF1962 would be a great guy to ask how the get stopped!!!!!

How much did you clear the roof of the house by?

Hey, you NOT only can spell, but ya do MATH too! Impressive! Not bad for a guy who says we has educationally challenged, OR you got your kids to do the math.

That would have been a ride! AND glad to see that it stopped w/o incident!

11.5 degrees of slope but that doesn't account for angular deflection in the rope from Jesses's weight.

Thank you

You're welcome... I love trig.

Well, you JUST turned another day older yesterday! Belated Happy D'Day. The older we get (unlike Jesse- nerves of steel) become more conservative in regards to self-preservation.

Your avatar has been buggin' me. Whats up with that torn out limb to the right of your right toe? I am assuming it is a crane removal as there isn't a notch.

Nice ride man! You've got way more guts than I do.

Thats nice of you to say.
Im not sure its my guts but more a lack of good judgment,a little OCD, a dash of way too much time on my hands.
It was fun though.

At least now I know how to set it up for "Nerves of Titanium Rocks N Trees".

.

IF he ever comes over.
The lil Basturd.

how i have my zipline set up is i set it up to have a certain amount of slack in the cable, so at the end of the ride you go up hill and gravity stops you. But i also do have a safety back-up: it is a wheelbarrow tire with a hole drilled in it that i threaded at the end of the cable as my "deadman" stop.

My brother is an engineer, so i had him do all the math and such, and then i set it up. we did one trial run with a 100 lbs log and it worked perfect.

For the past 2 years now, at Arbor Day, I've been stetting up a zip line for the kiddos. I only take them up about 20' and send them about 75'. So, I've seen hundreds of kids go down a zip line. There is always a smile on every kid's face.

Jesse, I love the set up! And I bet there was a huge smile on your face.

Just don't do 10m/s on that pulley, and you'll be okay!
