I mis-judged this one. I was planning on cutting it into pieces after securing it with a rope. It looked firmly attached, but it broke free as I was tying it off. The lower limb caught it, and I pulled it down after I was on the ground.

I'll remember this one if I'm ever tempted to climb under something heavy I'm not sure of.
Glad you didn’t get clobbered on the way up.

I’m sure you know, but it is possible in some cases to tie things off remotely. By isolating your throwline, you can set a running bowline on something and then work on setting the remaining rope into rigging.

Whether or not the juice is worth the squeeze can obviously vary with the complexity of the situation, but the option is sometimes there and can help mitigate risk.

HO wants the suckers removed from this oak tree. They've been growing for years, and some are 3" diameter and 15' long. I decided to leave several that extend over the neighbor's old fence. I'll reposition my TIP and use rigging to keep them off the fence.

Nice addition to the yard debris pile.

Tried convincing the HO to keep this nice white pine, but alas. At least the log should mill up well despite a little bit of heart rot.

Definitely mill that! Maybe an olde deer rub or something. That probably won’t go too far up the heart. The rest looks great. Very even looking ring spacing, clear and straight.

Look at this beautiful pine I've finally found a reason to climb. Over three feet DBH, and perfectly shaped. I was talking to a lady in the yard across the street when I saw the dead limbs I couldn't see from the street. Bingo, and getting permission to climb was easy.

I'll be going after these two dead limbs. I set a TIP about 85 feet up (in the circle) last evening on the second try with the BigShot.

I'll probably set a higher TIP with my extension pole just to go play.

Dassa gawjus tree!

A nice, simple, small, clearing job. Just me and the Bandit felling and chipping ~30 year old firs. Spent about three days there in this main zone and some other smaller areas, made about 40 yards of chips and that was with trying to save logs, since they wanted as much firewood as possible.
