Work Photos

This is from a job we did a couple years ago. Good size dead Douglas fir leaning hard over a water flume. I apologize if I’ve already posted this here, my weekend job is snowed out and I’m bored.

Somehow got my pics out of order, but I installed a 3/4” rope about 40’-50’ and ran it up the hill to a block on another tree and down to a porta wrap to compensate for the side lean then jacked and wedged tree into the lay. After it was on course and committed the groundie let go of the rope and it landed perfectly on the hill above the flume and locked in above a stump.

I also cut timber for logging companies. That’s my usual weekend job. Used to be a full time gig with tree work on weekends now it’s the opposite. Also makes it nice when the tree service gets slow, I can usually find a company that needs a hand. Keeps me sharp around the houses.

I did some residential logging while living in Amador County. It's definitely a different world from tree service but fun nonetheless. Definitely teaches you a new way to do things.

We were neighbors for awhile. I’m in the next county north. Still cutting beetle kill, some of which is getting too bad to climb. Bixler did the smart thing and bought that 90’ lift.

I worked for Foothill tree service up there for a bit. Should have kept heading north and worked for Bixler. He seemed like a cool guy. Did you pick up any work on the Napa fires or the detwiler fire.
My wife got pregnant and wanted to move back by the grandparents, bit we basically drove thru the detwiler fire to make it back to texas.

I was thinking about going over to the napa area see if I could lend a hand but I’ve got so much work at home seemed silly to go traveling. and they are inundated with crews. Congrats on the new baby. If you ever get the traveling urge again look me up. I can always use a good climber, especially right now. :)

Siberian elm from a couple weeks back. Short climb to get a little weight off of the garage side and a little reach off of the opposite side to miss neighboring trees on its way down.

Dead wood and some building clearence on this oak included the removal of a 12 - 14 inch horizontal lead over the chimney and deck. Lots of cutting smaller sensible pieces all double roped and tag lined away from structure. You can see all of the saw dust on the roof.
