Work Photos

Had the chance yesterday to climb prune and brace this red maple. This is the biggest in DHP (98cm) that I've ever seen or work for that specie. Here they don't grow has big as silver maple or sugar maple and they have big issues with pollution and stuff. The owners of the house are really open minded peoples and will put any effort to keep this tree standing , so fun to deal with! Severe die back on the central leader many years ago , with big big cavities , maybe 5% strong wood, So we did a weight reduction on it + two 4 tons synthetic cable. We wanted to keep this center as much as possible. Some tips reducing a bit on the other part of the tree but mostly just dead wooding for the big laterals branch that have took the lead.

You should sell the client some root zone work, the piles of soil and new driveway are a real issue for the tree. Leaving the wood chips on site would have been a great idea biologically.

Like you said the driveway is a tree killer, it look new on the photo but it's not , it was for shure responsable for some trouble with this tree few years ago. Roots work is schedule for next spring . drilling with the 1'' bit in the soil and adding compost , fertilizer and vermiculite mix , we thought that it was late in the season and the tree will no have time to benefit of all before it's drag down in other horizon.... Question for people that are familliar with air excavation. This winter we will made an home made air spade , but what type of compressor do we need for good result and how many material do you remove from the base of the tree before putting the wood chips over?? Thanks for your answers.

Treat the tree now, lots of time for root growth. Don't fertilize. Use at least 125 cfm compressor, break soil to 6 to 10 inch depth unless compacted layer is deeper. Air and organic matter is the best treatment.

Removed this large Elm Tree today. Was a lot of obstacles to be concerned about. Wires, two buildings, two trucks that couldn't be moved. All worked out well. I'm getting used to this crane thing:)

Wasn't planning on another bucket truck, but my old ford f450 is being put out to pasture ! Needed to much $ in work for the annual safety and not worth putting anymore $ into! That only
Left me with the 5 ton international chip truck so this is the new addition !
