Willow Oak Removal

Steve Connally

Been here much more than a while
Fun to see when the home owner documents the work. Anybody know how to convert an AVCHD video to something you can upload onto the buzz? They used an apple and I'm stuck on windows. Super hot and humid day. I reserve the wife beater for those days. I'm usually looking a little more business like but comfort over appearance when I'm in the tree. Luckily my "Office" has remote start and cools down to a balmy 68 before I get in to head home.

dont lie steve, them guns dont fit in their holsters when you got a tee shirt on.

thats a man's removal right there, hope you were feeling like a champ when you were done. i woulda

Because of the driveway? Crazy. Professional looking work though. re the shirt, topless is ok in some places, shorts are common in other places.
I feel more professional when my pits aren't pouring sweat and I don't have heat exhaustion.

No he documented it because he thought it was cool. I had pruned that tree years ago and he decided it just had to go. Is that what you meant guy? Gunshow....low caliber for sure! Always have sunscreen on the art though.

Sunscreen is a must fo sho. How close to the 2 phase was it? I hate climbing next to high voltage cause I get paranoid. Did you use a crane to get the butt log on the driveway or did it roll there?

It was closer than it should have been. Had I bid it I probably would have had it cleared by the line clearance guys. I could have taken the two leads over the wire smaller but I felt pretty good about it. I was outside the circle the entire climb but the 2 leads over the hot lines went within the limit when they swung down. We felled it on the yard and rolled with the swinger to another area of the driveway. The customer is a wood worker and he's gonna make some furniture out of it.

That's a 2012. Its basically a lexus on a truck chassis. Totally computerized. The remote start remembers my temperature settings. It has seat heat and seat AC. When I get ready to roll out I hit the remote start about 10 min before I leave so when I get in the truck I could hang meat in there. Balmy 66. Everything is voice activated. The coolest thing about it is that it has a Jake Brake. I've got 50k miles on the original brake pads. The mileage sucks. I had a programmer, dpf and ecm delete installed, replaced the exhaust from the manifold to the muffler so it still looks stock unless you look closely. I bumped up 125hp and now get 18.5 mpg instead of 13 to 14 highway. It's like a sportscar and any more hp I would blow the rear end out. I tinted all the windows to factory and put a leveling kit on it. I love that truck. The only thing that is a pain is having to bring a change of clothes for the ride home so I don't trash the interior. Funny thing... It was like my 4th day back to work after my wife died and I had 1500 miles on it. I was sitting at a red light and some DB nailed me in the rear at 45mph. I was stopped. It hit me so hard the seat broke and it pushed the bed into the cab. No frame damage though. $20k in damages and his caddie was totaled and he went to the er in an ambulance. If I hadn't been in that truck I'd have gotten hurt too. After a miserable experience with the body shop its finally back to normal. There are 2 spots I can tell there was damage but nobody else would. I wanted so bad for them to total it but they wouldn't. Anyway great built truck. Traded an 01 2500 with 175k miles on it for this one.

Well mine doesn't have all the bells and whistles though she still looks pretty good. And the AC is actually one of my complaints, so I'm glad they've fixed that issue. The thing hauls A$$! Especially for a diesel! I have a Banks 6 gun on mine with an S&B Cold Air intake. I estimate that I get about 18.5-20mpg when taking it easy. I kept getting stuck in the mud when pulling the skid steer, even with 4WD, so I have so Nitto 35s on it, which solved that problem. But they make it hard to estimate anything regarding mileage and speed. Absolutely love my truck. Cummins makes a mighty nice diesel. Crazy about the Jake Brake. No wrecks on mine...sorry to hear about yours dude. That sounds like a nasty one! I did however get caught in a bad hail storm, maybe 20 minutes straight, with a good bit of that being golf ball and larger size hail. Speaking of golf balls, my white truck looked like one after that storm. $7K in damage! They cut off the roof and replaced it, put a new hood on, and then dent repaired everything else. I'll drive it until it turns to dust.

Wow that's crazy hail. What do you thing about the cold air intake? I have done a bunch of research and most say that it really doesn't effect anything and that the stock airbox is more than enough. They say all you really get is a louder turbo and that if you just cut the baffles out of the stock flow tube you get the same effect. I was thinking about a banks but have held off because I can't find anything that really shows the benefit.

The intake looks good and adds whirl to the turbo sound but mpg and performance enhancement is minimal. The Banks did more but I understand there are better ones out there. Smarty and Bully Dog supposedly. The Banks had a better guarantee.
