Which Callistemon?

I have found a tree that is one of the Bottlebrush trees- part of the Callistemon family, but I'm not sure exactly what it is.

Looks like Callistemon viminalis 'Red Cascade'. The flowers are a little bigger than viminalis. Not 100% on the bark though.

Around here, viminalis is called Weeping Bottlebrush....

The bark is what's throwing me off. It's so distinct and looks like nothing in either of the books I have.

I guess I could check around on google.

Nick, I'll check at work tomorrow. We may have a botanical key to the Calleistmons.

After a little research I'm going to have to agree that it's probably Callistemon viminalis. If you're not convinced the only other possibilty that I know of is C. citrinus, but citrinus usually has more erect flowers and less droopy branches.

I think one mistake I made was that there were about 20 identical trees on this street, and I only looked at the one tree I liked best. I should've compared the trunks of a few of them to see that I wasn't just looking at the one freak with a sexy trunk.
