what's yall's thoughts on the rrp?

I haven't done much spar work srt..I will this season. Plan on putting some miles on the rw.

I just ordered some retrieval line. I have a flint locker srt anchor. Works great. Just need some retrieval rope to tie on the end. I do the alpine butterfly aswell. But I want to use the flint locker more.

I had a fucking hh2 but needed cash and sold it. I'm going to have to get another because they are really amazing on a spar. You can cinch them right up to the spar take some weight off your spurs. There nice. Just a pain to tie gotta get use to it. Especially getting your hitch just right. For tending

was looking at the hhx earlier, I like the idea but it looks like a pain when your swapping it out allot

I like that setup, although I prefer SRT choked around the spar, very handy when ya need it tho
And also right now I do natural crotch rigging...so I leave my nubs and use them as a rigging point. It save me alot of time not having to create my rigging point into the spar. It would be a pain in the ass srt. So the friction saver setup works well. So this season I'll have to change that if I'm going to be climbing srt. Plan on starting doing more srt on trims other than take downs. I was a bucket baby for years. Meaning I only cut out of the bucket truck. Because my bosses climbing gear is like 15 years old and I didn't trust it or like it. I started climbing when a buddy let me try out his hitch climber setup and notch sentenial saddle. Then I bought my own climbing gear.

Yeah it is. It's something you keep on the rope. Re tie it every so often. Depends on how much your using it. You want to spread out the wear of your hitch cord. Other than that you get used to it. It's amazing how close you can cinch it up to a spar.

if im on a larger spar doing anything with a saw (Handsaw for now, might get a tophandle down the road) I will put my line around the tree, back to the hitchclimber on my floating D, and lanyard around the spar, just a little extra safety

Yup same here on most trees..I have lower ds on my saddle so that will take weight off my spurs so that's nice. Barley use my upper ds anymore.

Gear is such personal preference. after years climbing I love what I love. But enjoy listening to newer climbers rite of passage negotiating through all the new stuff out there.

im looking at the CS2511T or 193T but the 201T would be great for the extra power (Ive got lots of hardwoods and large diameter stuff)
Yeah I've seen your saddle before. I can't comment on other too handles my first was ms200 then ms 201tc both great saws. I hear alot of people complain of the power of the 201 but I don't find it to be that much of a difference my saw a cutting son of a bit**h

me too, I like and use what I like, but am open to hearing about what others use, so if I have it I can test it, and I figure others can do the same

you done any mods? once I get some cash, I might pick up an old saw and do a port job and open up the muffler, as an experiment
I haven't never thought about til I watched a few videos of August hunkies on youtube. I was thinking of taking it to our saw barn that does all the work on our saws. I cut some big wood with it too. Just cut one side and work my way around.
