what's in your rigging bags?! Show em up !

I am new to the X rings. I only see a few "pre-made" ring+ sling combos on treestuff. Are there more that I am missing, or does everyone splice their own for the most part?

Thanks jmaher, I saw those.. I don't know how confident I am in my splicing, so I was wondering if there were more premade slings. My post above was poorly worded.

Well.. I think it might have been poorly read. Ha-ha.

I think as far as "rings as slings", what you see is what's available right now.. And Treestuff was the first to advocate a 2 ring sling, thank god. (Sorry Ben)

But tenex splicing is easy. Easy, easy. Check the " Xrr sling ideas" thread. Some wicked awesome stuff poured out of there. Best of luck, pm w/ any questions. Everyone around here is super helpful though, anyways.

ohh c'mon on now , no need to come the raw prawn, just saying that in a standard rigging test 9 out of ten arborists prefer to buy XRR over their leading competitors, can't fault market research.
jmaher my cerebus three beast ring whoopie works great, now I wish I had made it even bigger.:loco:
In your defense..
I will say.. That's a purdy lookin lil piece o' tail.

I had to try the abr thimble ring N ring with 9/16 cordage. I like that size cordage for the increase wll , while staying light. I made them thimbles hot as shit the other day. Nothing the cordage couldn't handle ,but that will probably be the only set I pick up . I like the x rings better . They seem smoother to me ,the abrs whine a bit when your running hard and fast . What's that doing to the rigging line heating it up real good. Sure the heats usually built up at the porty/Hobbs / grcs / Stein/ homemade brake/tree trunk / glove or whatever you use to slow down materials so its on the rig line somewheres . it has to go somewhere. Anyways enough bullshit. In the end I'll buy more xrings I'm sure. I doubt I'll be needing any for a while though. They are tough bastards . I Chuck mine from who knows how high on the regular and they show little signs of beating. Not to mention the masses they catch and ask for more. Id like to play with a tht still yet as well. I can't remember the last time I used a pulley except to pull or a tree. Even there xring in an alpine makes uo my 3:1s or throw a bite through one with the rock zotica double pulley and achieve more m.a... Even my impact blocks getting dust from sitting while the old fart beast whoopie is my finisher. Gotta get my mitts on a THT.
