Do about what? You're working for another company. The company paid your hospital bill. Your foot is healed. You're stealing clients from your old employer. You've got nothing. An attorney is going to charge you more than your bonus.
Check with your local labor board. Stop stealing customers. That will come back to bite you in the . If you have permanent damage or something you might have more of a case. Personally I would cut my losses and chalk it up to experience.
Did you talk to your boss before going to the emergency room?
If not, s/he may have a case for denying payment. There may have been much better ways to handle a sore foot--RICE!
If you had problems with your boss previously, that was the time to resolve them. Alleging past shortcomings to justify stealing clients for weekend buzz work sounds lame.
With all the biz owners here, don't expect a lot of sympathy.
Yeah... I'm thinking, jobsite injury, holding an unrelated bonus hostage for legitimately needed care... damn. That sounds like a messy all American lawsuit just waiting to happen.
Do I need to start a post on what to do with a disgruntled ex-employee of over 6 months? The event you are talking about is from over three years ago and your bonuses were based on safty and performance which may have been reduced, it was so long ago. You did lose your bonus when you crashed the company truck into a resident's fence while on personal time and left the scene of the accident. I'm sad to see this is what your thinking about after midnight. I could go into great lengths about your employment here, but I have no need to cause any drama. If you are happy with you current employment then there is no need to dwell on the past or try to cause me any greif. I have moved on long ago and think its is time for you to move on as well.
Wow that was quick, amazing how nicely some things are resolved on the buzz and truths get out. Makes me smile even in the virtual world, well sort of virtual as we really get to know each other by our posts. I think it's all good.
Yikes....post deleted. Guess the problem was solved. I cracked a beer thinking it was going to get good. Looks like the moral of the story is speak the truth and keep a eye out for the swinging pill.

I am very happy with my new employment. Just wanted to hear other opinions on what you did during my employment with you. Obviously you cannot move on because you stare ron and I down while we are working next door. Yes I had an accident with your truck but that was after you made me pay back the money for my foot. Funny how you cannot keep an employee long term after you have been doing trees for 14 years. It feels unethical to take your clients but you know what.. its not. You had no appreciation for what I did for your company and getting you to where you are today. If you treated your employees fairly, you would have more climbers stick around. The only employees who have stayed are two illegal mexicans. Workmans comp should have covered my injury not my bonus. I will be the itch you cant scratch for the rest of your life cameron. You do have less clients now and I dont feel bad about it one bit. Treat others as you would like to be treated. You clearly didnt. Your business is corrupt and you know damn well it is. You worked me 6 days a week for 17.50 an hour and made me work saturdays for free. Why did you do this? Because you knew I was going through a hard time in my life and had no where else I could go. Now that I'm in a better place its time for me to make you suffer which ever way I can. You are greedy and unethical. You take advantage of others so you can succeed. Taking that cab the day I left was the best thing I ever did. Good things happen to good people which is why I landed my job at the borough. Lets tell everyone about the day I had heat stroke and you made me drive trucks to the dump while vomiting out the window. Or making picks with the crane that you later said "I really did put your life in jeopardy". Cutting my healthcare to a worse plan to save yourself money. Not allowing us to take lunch until 2-3 o'clock. Having your wife call me on occasion because you didnt have the balls to man up and talk. The list goes on. And I will continue to let it be known. I've moved on. Just not done making you suffer as you made me.

I'm your happy your happy where your at in your life. That I introduced you to your future wife and all. You couldn't have distorted the truth much further in your post than you have. If you were not happy with your employment here you would have quit long ago and not stayed for 4 years til you were let go.
I could care less about you grabbing a few crumbs from my clients here and there. Our company is steadily growing new clients. So if the only way you can get work is to door knock my clients than so be it. You are your own man.
You working for a few hours on the weekend could bother me in the least or let alone 50 hours a week at a competitor.
My wife was with me when we created the company making her half of the ownership. She has just a much input with the employees as I do.
P.s I do remember you begging for your job back the day after we let you go, asking me over and over if we really wanted to part ways. As I said it was in the best interest of the company.
Clearly you saying "you are going to make me suffer" is showing your true colors to everyone which is just one of the reasons we needed to part ways.

Yeah, I should have quoted it when I saw it to save it posted on the buzz. I did't realize he would get so embarrassed after what he posted. He pulled down his post before I responded. I read his post at lunch today but didn't have time to respond til after work and it was deleted. I wasn't going to repond at all, but wanted to set the record straight.
Arbor23, In spite of the fact that your first post is marked as edited, I don't think deleting your original comment, and then posting a new comment in its place at the top of the thread is fair play. That's misleading for first-time readers.
