Possibly a water oak. Tough to tell from just the trunk. Photo is a bit fuzzy. Close-up of cut surfaces would help.

For future reference, try:
"Winter Tree Finder - for identifying deciduous trees in winter", by May Theilgaard Watts & Tom Watts; ISBN: 0 912550-03-1

I have recommended this remarkable series of identification booklets previously.
I paid $2 many years ago; I think the price has increased dramatically to ~$4.

Don't underestimate it.
Try as well:
"Tree Finder - A Manual for the Identification of Trees by their Leaves"

The series uses drawings & logic charts to quickly lead to an ID.
e.g. if yes, go here; if no, go there.

Ciao for Now !
