What are the best Tree Business software programs?

Currently using arborsoftworx, but I am looking for different alternatives.

-are there any programs that have professional accounting software capabilities?
-are there any paper-less programs, ie. digital work orders via laptops or Iphone?

Thanx for any feedback you may have!

Re: What are the best Tree Business software progr

We are using arborsoftworxs now as well and have been working out the details of upgrading to a multi license on a server for multiple users and remote access. After Chris's comment on Salesforce we are looking into that as an option.

We are also using Arborsoft workx and the customer service is horrible. We have had them for 3 years now and it's getting worse. I'm looking into Arbor Gold. Does anyone use or have pros or cons against it?

Re: What are the best Tree Business software progr

KY: so i just looked back on software posts for the last year and still no one approving any particular software package. Have you just started using Real Green lately? I looked at their website, either their software is too complex to explain well on a website or their web site sucks. A bit of both i think.

If you have just recently started using Real Green, what was your investment to purchase the software?

I'm using AG and not terribly happy. i need to update it at a cost of $800ish soon but i'd consider switching to something that does more of what i want it to.

Maybe there is no best software out there. I could live with AG and make it work quite well for my needs i think. But, i hate spending money on something when there is a better option out there.

Re: What are the best Tree Business software progr

We have AG and the software is a little clunky but it does help stream line operation, keep track of PHC renewals, and store all the info you need to store in the tree business. It's prone to crashing and has little quirks that can drive you crazy when it's on a network or when you try to integrate it with Quickbooks. But the customer support is good and they will eventually help you straighten out your problems. They are good people there. I wish the software was a little more "tight" but at the end of te day it does what it's supposed to do. It doesn't really make your life easier at first, but if you put in the time and get everything set up rght on it, it will make you money, protect your repuation, and make your customers happy by helping you stay professional and organized.

I wonder if there are other people out there who feel the same way as I do about AG? I know 2 guys who tried it and then said no...I think maybe they got frustrated quickly because it's a quirky program.

Tierson, your words hit the nail on the head for me. Clunky and crashy yet effective. It's just that my other computer is a mac and that makes clunky pc software seem absolutely unbearable at times.

Do you have the latest version? Have they fixed any of the glitches?

p.s. do you actually find time for tree work and for rowing? I can't see how i ever would unless i had my own single. Someday.

Re: What are the best Tree Business software progr

We are using Real Green at the suggestion of a large Tree and Landscape company from Minnesota. We had to switch all of our hardware and software (we used Apple before), so the total investment was ~$10,000. We just started the conversion a few months ago, but I find myself at least 2-3 times a week finding out something new and useful about Real Green.

We researched many software companies prior to making this decision. While Real Green is not perfect in every sense (if I had the time and know-how, I would tweak a few things :)), it is more powerful than we need at the moment and will allow us to grow into it.

It allows us to set up repeating programs and manage data in a useful manner- we can create very useful sales and production reports.

The other thing I like is that Real Green is a larger software company. Their customer support has been great, and never delayed.
