Welcome Rock Exotica

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! It's great to be among our friends in the arborist community. We appreciate all your support and the love for our gear. We'll keep you posted on new gear coming out and any other news from the Rock Exotica labs... Speaking of which, take a look at something we've been working on:

Maybe it would be nice for the hook to have a deeper belly to be able to hold more.

Yeah, I hear you on that... With our first version, we had to find a "sweet spot" size. But, once we get it out in the market, we know you guys will put it through its paces and give us some feedback.
What tools / accessories would you see yourself clipping into it?

I'm a rope-radius freak... if I can save some wear and tear on the rope, I go out of my way to do it. I was using the 2.0" OmniBlock at the canopy anchor on my DdRT setups, but have just switched those to a 1.5" OmniBlock and a ROOK pulley, and the Omni works fine for that, the ROOK has a pretty small sheave, but I'll play with it for awhile. I'd like to pick up a couple more of the 2.0" ones, and try using them in a light rigging setup for 1/2" lines. I'm often using lots bigger, heavier stuff than I need. A lighter weight setup appeals to me, that all fits in a single rope bag. The swivel on the OmniBlock design really makes it nice for keeping the pulleys in line with the rope when using multi-pulley (redirect) configurations. I just don't know how they'll hold up to light rigging, but I can see no reason why they shouldn't, if I keep the loads reasonable and avoid shock loading them.

What do you use your OMNIs most for? We've got some good stuff in the pipeline in the realm of the Omni-Block, fyi...
Midline attachable fair leads for rigging or terminal rigging blocks for Canopy material. Love the swivel and mid line attachment (while still on the sling, unlike an arborist block). I've also used them on a speed line, but not very often.

Anything, really...the working end of a positioning lanyard, a redirect, a spare climbing system, a rope bag, a drill, a coffee thermos, an old bmx plus mag, maybe even a chainsaw!

I love the Omni for rigging. I often use it for a V-Rig which is somewhere between a double whip tackle and a zip line. It's an effective technique in many scenarios.

I would love to see an Omni capable of accepting larger rigging lines. I'd buy at least one in the blink of an eye.

That thing is good looking and high tech looking... I might even clip in my little stainless steel flask I use for.. er.. my allergy medication. But I think I'm with oceans on this one, and would clip in spare lanyards, my mini-DdRT setup, rigging stuff when I'm climbing around setting anchors... it looks a lot more sturdy built than my Caratool 'biners.
