We should ban bombs in the USA.

After the Boston tragedy I think the USA should ban bombs.

Make bombs illegal. That way we can be safer.

OH WAIT.....

Bombs are illegal....

Then how did this happen???

Being serious, I hope the cowards that did this are caught.

I'm really sad to see that this happened. The person or persons that did it must hate most mankind, because so many people from many countries were there; unless I'm mistaken (I haven't had time to see much news yet).

I'm just thankful it did not involve guns. Our right to bear arms does not need another blow.

I was chatting with a 90 plus year old man... he figured we had about 25 years until the nation turns to a 3rd world country. Wouldn't that be somethin'.

with time comes more wisdom, that is scary if he is an intelligent person.

I MADE myself long ago listen to those that were older than myself and were intelligent.

Don't be a Bone-head, listen to your elders.

I know Frax, it's crazy. When they say they grew up in the depression and talk about WWll times, helps keep things in perspective. I always ask em', what's the secret? Here I am just climbing trees.

Guess people are living a lot longer now, at least for the time being.

I work for a guy, ol' Mr. Bruni, he's now 92, he's finally starting to lose it. I walked in his house as usual, met him in the kitchen and noticed hot water just running in the sink. "Hey Mr. Bruni, you want me to turn the water off?
He says "no, I leave it running all day", I shrugged it off.

So we get to talking and about twenty minutes later his son walks in, first thing says,"Hey Dad, you want me to turn the water off?"
Mr. Bruni says, "Water? Whats that doing on? Yeah turn that off!"

His mind is finally starting to go at 92. I've heard his life story plenty of times and he's lived a good one. Worth some bucks for sure. He's had 9 kids, out lived a few of them, I guess it will all be split between the rest of them.

Xman, I always listen to my elders. What, do you think I am an idiot? Hey Boss, aren't you gonna be 40 this year? That's big.

I'm looking at 30 right around the corner. We're not getting any younger!

I'm with Levi. My girls grandfather is 85 years old and hes a worker. real smart when it comes to vegetable gardens and small handyman kinda stuff. he has had to do something right his whole life if hes body allows him to work the way he does still outside, its wild.
That being said, i happen to stop by his house and drink a beer with the old man, and he was try to set up a tree stand so he could cut a tree about 15' up so it will fall short into the intended drop zone. and his "new chain" on his saw was on backwards and he was using a string (did NOT qualify as rope in my book) i wouldnt trust to tie my boots with to pull the tree over.

and levi, very true about respect!
its to be earned. ask rodney dangerfield!

It is true that we can keep really stupid people alive for a long time these days, but that misses a point.

Not all old people are smart about everything, and not all young people are geniuses either.
I think the point is that just because someone is old, that their insights ought not to be discounted.

In our modern world it seems like only people who are under 35 are considered cool enough or badass enough to pay attention to, or emulate.
Those junky but highly entertaining crime shows, we are expected to believe that the world renowned expert on this or that is some young thing barely out of college.

Xman, I totally see your point with this thread. It's interesting how with last week's tragedy, the attackers were blamed. But when someone shoots up a place, the guns are blamed. The media will sway your opinions without you even knowing it. Their methods are clever.

I don't want to take away from the sorrow we should all feel about what happened last week. But we should all learn from every experience. That way, we might some day be one of those wise old people, we so admire.
