The Gulf of Tonkin incident resulted in over 50K young Americans dead before it ended.
Tens of millions American citizens, including me, don't buy the Bush Cheney version of what actually happened on Sept 11th, 2001.
But I don't buy into the notion that everyone in our govt is corrupt, most of them are doing their best as good patriotic citizens. But the top levels of the legislative, executive and judicial branches? That's a different story.
The exact thing that President Eisenhower warned us of as he left office in 1961, has come to pass. War is now a for profit business, and they have every intention of making real sure that business is good for the foreseeable future.
General Electric now owns one of our primary sources of news, and if their chairman decides not to investigate very questionable aspects of either 911 or these never ending wars on "terror" continuing indefinitely? They have the clout and resources to make it so.
To put it more simply, has treating communist countries as friends rather than enemies resulted in a stronger more vibrant and well off middle class, or just the opposite?
When the middle class takes it in the pants regardless of which party's in power? Is that true representative democracy at its best, or something else entirely?
Is it our govt's job to empower our foes at the expense of their constituents?
What good things has G.E. brought to life for America in the last 30 years?
When govt and corporations work together for only the mutual benefit of each other at the expense of the taxpayers in both blood and money?
An objective mind would call that fascism, and very un-American.
