We should ban bombs in the USA.

When there is extreme gun violence we wring our hands over gun laws and also wonder how we can intervene earlier in the perpetrators sorry lives to prevent the violence.

When a bomb is used we scream terrorism. Both are terrible acts of violence, but its very disturbing that some in the government want to use the terrorism card in order to deny the remaining suspect a trial. A citizen. Not a foreign agent. This would be a dark precedent.

If the brothers were born in the USA I bet no one would dare suggest it.

Frax, I like you! You're a tough chick, and a "lady" to boot! I like that! So please don't take this as contradictory...

I don't think it really matters where they're from. Well, maybe in the courts it does. But anyone, anywhere, can be"radicalized". I call them "terrorists" no matter where they're from. I'm reminded of Timothy McVeigh and clan. All from America, but to me, still terrorists.

I just don't want the government to take away my ability to protect myself and my family from them.

Bix, I hear ya. It'd be nice to see the full video footage. Yet, I still think of the shootout that ensued between them and the cops. Explosives were thrown from their vehicle and cops were killed. Although that could've been staged, I "believe" I remember that citizens got video footage of it, though I could be wrong. If so, it sounds like they got the right people.

Everyone who knew them, says how they would've never expected them to do something like that. After thinking about it though, a lousy no good criminal is not the type to fight for a cause. But a person who thinks they can change the world would...

Just my thoughts. Not trying to stir anything up. After all, I'm here for trees, not politics. Love all you guys - Will

Let's think in more Machiavellian planning terms and suppose that Cheney's still in power, but his goal of an unending war on terror for profit is starting to sputter out, and losing public support?

Now Cheney has a bottle full of Islamic jihadist scorpions that he keeps stoppered up tight for just such an eventuality. All he needs to do to get public sentiment back on his side is unstopper this bottle and shake a few out to bite the public in the butt a few times, and presto!

The gullible public obediently falls back in line and the never ending war on terror has a new lease on life once again.

I know you guys think this is crazy conspiracy talk, but when the MSM is owned by multinational corps? It should be no surprise that their goals and aspirations become as easy to implement as producing a well directed Hollywood fictional movie capable of bringing their public audience to tears.

Yes, many people share your opinion. But fortunately I live in a country where I can publicly express my opinion that when Cheney and company look straight into the camera, and state unequivocally that they do not torture folks?

I can state my belief that they're lying through their teeth!

I meant no disrespect, Jomoco. I for one think you're a pretty smart dude. I just thought the whole tree/nut thing would be funny.

Anyway, I don't trust the MSM at all because...they have ulterior motives. There are loads of reasons why they may withhold something from us. But in general, if it doesn't help support their cause, they're not going to interject it into our brains. The only problem I see with your view is that Cheney's group isn't running the MSM.

I don't think any candidate for high political office in the US stands a chance of being elected without first being vetted and approved by the industrialist's that actually run this country.

Furthermore, I think the above has been true since the early 70's when I was a punk kid thinking bout trimming my first palm tree.

The differences between Cheney and Obama may not be as vast as many of you think they are?

I pay very little attention to what any politician says these days, preferring instead to keep as keen an eye as I can on what they actually do.

I see how the government effectively distracts us with social issues like abortion, gun control (if you really think you're going to fight our military with your AR-15 you are quite delusional) and budget issues while quietly (or in this case not so quietly) eroding our civil liberties. And by keeping us pitted against each other, manage to advance their agenda without any real opposition. Example, Republicans under Bush believed we needed the Patriot Act to keep us safe, but anything Obama does is taking away our freedoms. Democrats under Bush shouted about the erosion of our civil liberties but now condone anything Obama does as necessary to our safety. If you stop paying attention to all the bs the media outlets are spouting you discover that the agenda of all the recent administrations, liberal or conservative, has been the same. Spend us into a hole, build up our military and destroy the middle class.

Yes, good ole regulated capitalism as practiced in the 40's, 50's and 60's.

Back when protecting the people's best interests was not considered a bad thing. Hence tariffs on imported goods and such.

I got no problem trading with any country whose standards and civilian rights meet or exceed our own.

But selling out the dumbest and humblest American laborers' rights to equal protection under the law to China, Mexico or Colombia for 30 cents an hour is more than just outrageous and un-American, it's down right evil IMO.

Since when does America screw over its most vulnerable citizens by outsourcing their livelihoods to any low wage hellhole in the world?

Who benefits from that except a few unpatriotic corporations willing to screw over the very country that made them rich?

Why do both reps and dems support this free trade BS now?

It's my understanding that it's when they go off the SSRIs that very bad things can happen.

Kinda like me weening myself off Percodan, getting a raging fever, then the hot n cold shakes, before finally the equilibrium of mind and body returns.

XMAN you gotta get to the rut of the problem... ban terrorists not bombs silly...

Jo what's Percodan do? Why were you on it?... And do you have any extras to send me???

Percodan is Morphine and aspirin. Percocet is Morphine and Tylenol.

It makes the pain from broken bones etc go away for a while.

No, it's mine I tell you...mine!

Broken bones??? I've never broken a bone... Just dislocated my thumb (climbing up a slide when I was a kid) doctor popped it right back into place.

Hurting tonight though... Two days of humping oak, cleaning up a hillside... good lord treework is hard work... I don't know if I'll ever be able to make to be an old man like yu, but I hope so. Damn terrorist, terrorizing everything!
