using a saddle with bridge?

I have decided to upgrade to a saddle with a bridge (probably the sequoia) and have only had saddles using the 2 attachment loops on each side in the past.

I would like others opinions on what configuration works best for attaching to a bridge? I am looking at the sherrill pics of the "hitch climber pulley" (pg 50 of 2009 magazine) but I don't know? Just want to be sure to get it right the first time.

I use bee line with a VT.

Pics are always very helpful for me.

Thanks!

TreeFlex saddle,Hitchclimber pulley, 2 DMM ovals, 8mm beeline and a VT...that is my rig and i love it, Nick whipped me up an 8mm ocean polyester eye and eye, so I will give it a go too

The sequoia has a flat bridge ( I wish it had a rope bridge) so a pulley directly on the bridge won't work. I have a sequoia w/ a Petzl ring S on the bridge, 2 Petzl willam ball lock biners, Petzl fixe pulley and a VT on 8mm beeline.

I bought a Cougar by Weaver, I'm sure it's heavier than the ones mentioned above, but it's a lot less expensive too.

I was use to a fixed TIP on the saddle, i.e. New Tribe, and the first time I inadvertantly shifted on my Cougar rope bridge, I thought I was falling out of the saddle

. But since that first time or two, that unexpected shift has not been issue.

I like the Cougar, it's comfortable to me, wasn't at first but I learned how to get wriggled into it and it's done fine.

I have the Sequoia with a large ring on the bridge for attaching too. I also run the hitch climber set up, with two oval biners.

If you're looking at the Sequoia though, I would also check out the Tree Austria 3. You can find it at Wesspur. I haven't tried one on yet, but I heard from someone who compared it to the Sequoia that he preferred it over the Sequoia. An added bonus is, with the added suspenders, this can be turned into a fall arrest harness. Though I hear the new SRT Sequoia can also be used as a fall arrest harness now.

Cougar, and I use a hitch climber too. I've got a Rock Exotica swivel on the bridge as well, so the single carabiner on the swivel on the bridge gives an excellent range of motion. I recently put on a D-ring saddle for kicks, it felt like lighting the woodstove with flint. I use a propane torch for that task most of the time.

that cougar is a real nice saddle, I have one that I use for removals now, my TreeFlex is saved for pruning and rec-climbs...

Weaver hit a home run on that gem :)
