Unicender, HH2 (Hitch Hiker) or Rope Wrench?

I currently use a RW but setting and unsetting the hitch gets tedious if you switch to ddrt in the canopy it is not bad. I hate to drag it over a redirect with a stopper knot behind it that how I was taught. I am looking into the BDB I am also a gear junkie and a saw junkie. Just bought a used 460 great saw but not cheap when your broke. And I justifie the BDB in many ways I can get by without it but how sweet would that be. Mid line attachable and very well made. No hitches I have come to hate hitches. But a necessary evil and cheap. I have to start selling some of the Vintage saws I have to pay off some of my debt I got 3 homlites for next to nothing and the run and actually cut well. Heavy no AV but guys collect them and are willing to pay. Spring was here then back to winter now its in between. Snow, fog, mud and raw. I have read and learned a ton on these forums. Great bunch of people.

I've tried all sorts of tending and pulley setups with the HH, but I find most reliable (and practical) is tending off my bridge ring and no extra doodads to act as a pulley. Just the HH the way it was meant to be used.
I just ordered a HH2 from wespur for my birthday, mostly due to comments like this and those from DSMc and my own affinity for climbing on hitches. I also think its supreme durability sold me.
VERY EXCITE!!
I'm curious what your slack tending looks like, through the bridge ring?

....My chest harness clips to my bridge ring and as I ascend the bridge ring brings the HH biner (and therefore the HH) with it.

That is the same as I do except I take 2 seconds more and add a pulley at the ring/ carabiner interface.

Send a pm to Gordon @surveyor for the BDB

Send a pm to Richard @yoyoman for the drum, he also makes the SAKA
I have ordered more Drums. I was thinking RE might do an upgrade and make the Drum unnecessary but I don't see that happening now and I'm getting too many requests to ignore those that want it so much. Should have them in a month or less.

..... I may have to add a Unicender and another Barrel from @yoyoman! I'm in need of rigging rope 5/8-7/8". So, I'll have to get reacquainted with the Uni all over again! [emoji848]
BTW, someone mentioned that when they are using their positioning lanyard, the Uni goes slack, that wouldn't happen if you attach the top of it to your chestie or neck tether that wouldn't happen.
Hey Dave, just to be clear to others, I was the maker of the Drum, RE came out with a Barrel but it disables DdRT and really does little to slow the wear of the plates on the Uni. I should have more Drums coming.

To each their own. For me adding a pulley is icing on the cake. Not only is tending smoother, haul back systems work better and when clipped into a chest harness using a knee and foot ascender, that pulley works like a chest roller and makes rope walking effortless.

I knew that @yoyoman, I just didn't mention your name by accident. My Bad, does this mean you don't like me anymore? [emoji17] ! I've always supported your ingenuity and level of artistic design, and as a great man!

You will Love it! [emoji7], just read the instructions, which I'm sure @surveyor has been explicit about! Enjoy it and as always Climb Safe and take it slow until you know what the BDBone can actually do! It's amazing! Best of times, with it.

Until hearing about it here, I didn't even know about the BDB, since it's not readibly available at the usual places. How much do they cost and where are they sold? Same with the Uni drum.
You cannot go with the BDB. Very comfortable design, everything is easily replaceable for short $ ( took me 2 years of production work then I just flipped the spine on it (friction point on the device. Friction isn't what makes it work, so it lasts a while). And Gordon is just the best at answering questions.
Very easy to learn on and comfortable with. I'm not saying this in comparison to all other devices as I haven't used them all, but I know I'm not interested because of my experience with the Bone.
All inventors of mechanicals, blame Gordon.

Cannot go wrong? I was way confused for a second.

Ahh SomethingWitty! You pulled a Dave! I fell asleep halfway through a post, some time ago. I caught a bunch of flack over that one for days. We all make little errors while typing, especially on our phones. Fat fingers, tiny buttons to touch! Stuff happens, don't worry about it. But, you definitely cannot go wrong with owning the BullDogBone! I love mine and it's almost 1 1/2 years young now! Still going Strong [emoji1377]!

I get it. It was just an important word.
I can say that I have never heard a complaint about the BDB besides that it isn't quite as smooth as the RR. Never.

Of course not, love you and all tree peoples. Just pointing out there is a Drum and there is a Barrel just like a RR Hump and a Baby Bump. Easily confused.
