Unicender, HH2 (Hitch Hiker) or Rope Wrench?

Yea Coal, the Zigzag definitely has a great purpose, but as you said, not midline attachable and a pain for redirecting. But, for straight runs and the occasional jump from point A to point B or C, it's top of the list DdRT gear! I've gotten used to having it hold me in place for the occasional stem that the Captain can't hold me still. But, that's an old thread! I'm curious how All of the SRT devices line up with all of the Climbers on the Forum. Like a top 4-5 devices, in their favorite order! That would make for an interesting topic of discussion. That's a new thread. I'm sure the Akimbo will dominate 1st place ..... once it takes hold of the market.

Nothing beats the Uni for midline attachment. But if you're going to pay that much, I'd go for the rope runner which is just so much smoother, and therefore faster, in every which way. I had the old HH, and I spent a lot of time tying and retying that friction cord, and finding it frustrating to dial in just right--the stopper knot would push down or hitch cord would get a little dirty and the action would change. I don't know if any of this has changed with the HH2.

I haven't taken my HH1 of my rope in a long, long, time. It's my go-to for work. I only run a 120', extending with another rope as needed for a base-tie.

The rw is great. No need to upgrade if you have the zk2 and the stiff tether.

Sean, I simply do not understand how folks can leave their system on for long periods like that. I am constantly taking mine on and off, that would drive me crazy. But hey, if it's working for you and you're paying the bills then that's all that matters.(y)

I'm going out on a limb, here!
1) BDBone
2) Unicender
3) RopeRunner
4) RopeWrench w/Hitch Climber pulley
5) Zigzag
6) HH2, since I've never used the HH1
Then there's the RR2 & the Akimbo, when they hit the market!
These are my favorites in order of usage.

Man, I haven't even used a uni or bdb (was super excited to get one and then this whole RR2 hype started) or HH.

This game is hard for me. I have a runner and have had a couple of wrenches.

I either own all of them or used them, wait I do own all of them! The RR2 is really cool by what I've read, there's no parts to drop! That in itself is Wicked! But I get what you're saying there's a lot of options already on the market. It's all about what you're comfortable with!

As far as systems I've used goes.....

In order of preference:

1) HH2
2) ZigZag
3) BDB
4) Rope Runner
5) Hitchclimber setup
6) Rope Wrench

Would love to try a Unicender, but it's a tough cost to swallow. Something I'd rather try before I buy. The Akimbo and/or RR2 someday too, but if the pricing rumours I'm hearing hold true those might be try only.

Looks like we're starting to get some polling going on! I'm just not comfortable with the HH or HH2 setups. I've tried them with the holster and a tending pulley, I'm just not sure or comfortable with them! Let's keep it going, though! Price is a huge factor for a lot of guys/gals. Can't leave the women arborists out in the cold! [emoji27]

I've tried all sorts of tending and pulley setups with the HH, but I find most reliable (and practical) is tending off my bridge ring and no extra doodads to act as a pulley. Just the HH the way it was meant to be used.

Didn't you get the Memo? It's spring here in the states! Huh! That's really unfortunate for you! It's 50*+ and raining for the next 8-10 days. Bummer [emoji848]
