I forgot that we have this Washingtonia robusta palm in our palm garden with two heads..... We call this our Victory palm>>>

The only other palm that looks like this and has multi- trunked are the Gingerbread or Duom palms (Hyphaene spp) from africa , arabia and india.

Later in SO-CAL hot at work in the 90 sweet...

Re: Two for the price of one !!!

Cool! We have a four headed triangle palm in our garden, but it's pretty short so it's not as impressive looking as that. One of the other botanical gardens in town has a really big doum palm. It's pretty cool.

My dad has a Phoenix canriensis (just guessed on the spelling of that one) in his yard that spreads into 3 trunks just a few feet of the ground. I've been wondering what to do with that thing....

Three closely packed phoenix heads sounds like a painful pruning experience!

[/ QUOTE ]

It was painful enough just trying to pull off the dead frond that I could reach from ground level!

I bet my dad would sell that tree in a heart beat- just for the novelty of saying he sold it!

8 heads are better than one?? Well, not in this case, per se. There's quite a split and it doesn't look good for longevity. But, How Cool?!
