Truck Tires to Save Lawns

[ QUOTE ]
You ever considered trying one big tire? Like one from a tractor?

Maybe it would be too heavy. At least your small tires can be lifted individually.. Bigger would need to be rolled up a ramp.

Like the idea. Also like that your video is under a minute. There's too many 3 minute Youtube videos that should be 1 minute long.

I've noticed that too. It is one of my Youtube pet peeves on Youtube.

Straw bales with alturnamat over them works great. I've also used old pallets before.

I've never tried those. Do they leave a mess after something has impacted them?

Nice fit into that yard too Norm!

That's what I'm talking about Norm! I hate blocking out big wood. I'm going to tie mine togethe and put my plywood underneath like you do.

Believe it or not. This is actually a selling point I use with customers. It may seem like a silly selling point, but it really helps. No body in my area does this. Why? Because it takes a little extra time to set up and re-load into the truck. And it requires storage space on a truck.

But, it is a great investment when the customer sees you fall a huge spar on their lawn and there isn't a single divot in it.

The guy I work for part time has a tire from a John Deere back hoe. I cringe when he asks us to put it on the truck, that sucker isn't light!

I keep it simple for my own gig, logs. They are there so I'll use 'em. I do have a tire from a tractor trailer but I don't care for bringing extra crap if I don't have to. Good trick with the mini is roll over the sides of the divot if you get one, good as new. People have asked me if I've vacuumed their lawns so I don't leave them trashed FYI.

I'm a simplistic kinda guy.

I do it the same way you do Mike. Been doing it that way for a long 'cause it works so well. This old timer showed me last week how to pull out bushes (phitzers) with an old spare tire still on the rim. Worked slick
