anyone use this new friction saving device? seen it in the new wesspur catalog and was wondering what the point of the clevis? maybe its something simple and i just totally missed it
 
It has been around for awhile... but not very popular. Petzl just reworked it for 2010.

"Strap with large diameter ring and quick link (triangle) for ropes with sewn terminations (the link opens to let the sewn termination through)"

Thanks for the link TreeStuff I was just about to do a search for it. Looks pretty nice to me. Seems to have the desireable features - a ring on one end and a removeable 'ring' on the other end. What's not to like? Maybe the closed ring?
 
I always thought the old version was bare bones for 50+ bucks.

From the looks they've beefed up the webbing quite a bit. I've got some of the 2010 on order so I'll let you know how they look.
 
I just went to look at it. I thought you was talking about the one that had 3 rings on it. Well I think it has three rings? I think that one might have been from Baileys? And you ought to go post on (start up advice) from Wilson. With the finger thing, want to here the story on it!
