Sorry for being gone guys, I had an opportunity I couldn't pass up. I got to climb up in Sequoia Crest park.

I'm thinking this tree near my house is Pinus cellulari, but I've not seen many of them so I'm not positive.

I think you’re right. I’ve seen a couple of those sprout around here too. They’re a unique species, they germinate almost overnight, and then they reach maturity in less than a week. Once they do, they don’t seem to grow another inch, although they do occasionally, at random, sprout new branches.

It’s the only species that can be re-assembled in a different location than its origin if you label all the pieces. I haven’t dismantled one yet...yet.
