No i didn't - maybe 75 yrs ago.
Planted then for a specific purpose, but they are no longer planted for that. Sometimes planted as an ornamental.
Very narrow native range along the Mississippi River.
Only 2 north American species...and i think only 1 Asian in the Genus.
