Trees from a distance

i love sassafras tea. my wife's grandfather found one that he could mill into lumber one time. it was a beautiful wood. i don't have anything good to post, so someone else can post. i'll jump in when i have a good one.
is the tea made with the leaves or the root? pretty sure it has been discovered that the root has carcinogens...and root beer is no longer made from it. might want to stay away from the tea. the leaves are still used as File for gumbo.


Derrek, form looks like Taxodium distichum so that's my guess. Probably wrong but I'll assume the legumes are a vine growing in the tree...
 
Then you put something up Tom, since you're obviously the moderator. Can you see the bark of that tree? The form? The branch structure?

Maybe try a screen bigger than your smartphone.
 
It might be a bit easier to id if the sun wasn't behind it in your shot. if i had to guess based on what i can see, i would say a euc, but it would be a long way from home in costal carolina.
