Trees from a distance

yes...lanceolata, right?

Dear tomthetreeman,

Everytime I think I've found a difficult tree to put on the TFAD thread, I think to myself, "Maybe I'll stump that dirty ole tomthetreeman this time! Just maybe! And then I will raise my fist in victory and laugh an evil laugh!"

But it never works out.

I surrender.

And I feel that I should buy you a beer someday in admission of my utter and total defeat.

Yeah it's something like that, can't quite remember the cultivar but species is good enough.

If not that, then it's 3 kids dressed as trees for Halloween.

I think I've seen creatures that look like this in Dr. Seuss books.

BTW: don't forget you're up!

I'm not sure if this is qualified as "from a distance" since it doesn't really show the shape. But there are some distinct features that should give it away.

Long thread here, unless there was a glitch as my page loaded...

Looks like an Ulmus, with a bit of Oak form. Real majestic and eerie all at the same time.

My Ulmus reply was to Tom's earlier post, thought I was on the last page. (ooops)

Symbioun, is that a Carya?
