The bark is similar to lagerstroemia but this is more cold hardy and introduced 150 yrs later. Tomthetreeman has the genus!!! Amazing to me you could tell from that photo. Hint on species.........Dir's favorite

I'm not familiar with the others (Korean, etc), so I was just trying to avoid misspelling pseudocamillia hahaha!

This one is less common than S. pseudocamelia. from the same continent. not koreana,

The correct spelling for the Genus is actually Stuartia (after john STUART) but many ref's use stewartia

I pass the Sunderland sycamore daily on my way to work, "only" like 25-26' in circumference, but not too shabby!
