Trees from a distance

No. Perhaps I sent you all down the wrong path in the size department, but a witchhazel this would be! This just happens to be a very large, broad speading specimen. The largest I have seen personally. If you look closely, very closely there is a unique characteristic of this tree you may notice. I guess that strays from the "trees at a distance" theme, but keep guessing.

What a difference one word makes. It should read "but what a witchhazel this would be!". The tree in question is not witchhazel. Not redbud either. This tree has good fall color and a pleasant smell to the leaves in autumn.

Mahk is correct. The tree is Cercidiphylum japonicum. This tree is located at the Morris Arboretum, just outside of Philly. A lot of neat trees there, including some really bizarre ones. Now on to the next tree!

Somebody had to do it...
