Trunk bark looks like Zelkova serrata, even though the crown is really open. So, yeah, Zelkova!

FYI: Everything on the right side of the photo was built fairly recently: the building and retaining wall is about 15 years old. I'm still blown away by the way this old fella weathered the rootloss!

Heres one I took in california in December. You guys have probably been to this place and know the tree. I've never heard of "Dirrs" before untill you guys started talking about it. I googled it. Do you guys recommend the book? Looks good
